Island Universe (2011) by James & Blackburn

The Ottawa via Toronto's alt-rock LP drops today in Canada and online.  The album has been described by a listener at the Indie Machine -- where the James & Blackburn have been deemed artist of the month -- as  “a mix of 90’s alt-rock with hints of folk and a sliver of prog for good measure."  Ryan Stephenson Price's review of Island Universe is a thorough read in which he describes the LP as "that weird record that falls into some strange genre-bending middle-ground that increasingly becomes more addictive each time you listen to it."
