St. John’s Newfoundland’s Hey Rosetta! played at the Echo in Los Angeles this last Thursday night and I was lucky to catch up with Cellist/Keyboardist/Guitarist/Backup Singer Romesh Thavanathan for an extensive interview.  The band has been on tour for months and are just now starting a season of music festivals that will see them play Bonnaroo in Tennessee, Festival D’Ete in Québec, Vancouver Folk Music Festival, and Evolve Festival in Nova Scotia, among others.  This flurry of festivals begins with Hey Rosetta! playing the behemoth Sasquatch Festival at The Gorge in Washington state.  Across four days of activities performers like Jack White, Beck, & Bon Iver and many more perform, along with Canadian favourites like Said The Whale, Metric, Feist, & The Sheepdogs.

Q: Romesh, the Sasquatch Festival has an amazing lineup of artists this year, like they do every year.  Obviously performing at the festival will be an incredible experience, but what else are you looking forward to?

A: Drinking and Beck.
