Cartoons after things finally started going right

When Cartoons’ frontman broke a string on his guitar one song in, his voice took on a, “What else can go wrong?!” tone.

To top it off, the band’s drummer couldn’t leave the stage unescorted, apparently due to a combination of lost ID and overzealous event staff, leaving him to sit there while his bandmates mingled before their set.

“Thanks liquor license laws of Ontario!” he declared sarcastically.

The band ripped through a short set of Jesus Lizard-influenced punk tunes that sped by quickly, though they did slow things down a couple songs in. The frontman played with David Yow/Kurt Cobain level intensity, he actually knocked over the mic stand.

The last couple songs had a couple false starts but once they got going, there was a, “Let’s get this over with” feel to it. After they finished, the drummer was escorted off the stage by security.
