East coast indie favourites Paper Lions have released their highly anticipated acoustic EP, At Long Creek, as a free download. After a premiere streaming at, the EP remained the publication’s most popular story for five days straight and the band remains at a steady #10 on Next Big Sound‘s chart for the fastest accelerating artists across the internet. Over the past weekend alone At Long Creek has been downloaded over 3,500 times and is continuing to gain momentum and win hearts across the country.

Officially released at the North by Northeast music festival in Toronto, At Long Creek debuted with a Live in Bellwoods show surrounded by over 300 park friends. Watch the performance of “My Friend” off the EP here:

The new EP features five new songs and one re-imagined single from their debut album. The tracks are stripped-down and take a step back from the usual clap-along melodies and faster-paced guitars that the band been most recently recognized for. Still, Paper Lions’ knack for infectious indie-pop-rock songwriting is undeniable. Alan Cross has described as the EP as “acoustic friendliness” and the band surpassed one million YouTube views for their music video for “Travelling” earlier this year.

Although excitement continues to build around the release of At Long Creek and the band’s home-coming tour, Paper Lions insist that this is only the beginning of an even greater project. Thanks to the generous support of their fans during an online fundraising campaign, the recording stage for their sophomore full-length album is complete. The LP is scheduled for a fall release.
