Christopher Smith Preps New Album For Release

June 29, 2012 in British Columbia, Music, Victoria by Andrew_Horan

Vancouver singer/songwriter Christopher Smith has announced that his sophomore album Earning Keep will be out on August 28 on Boompa Records.

Smith began his career as a visual artist before moving into music. He wanted the new album to have a more cohesive sound that was built on both pop idioms and a full band sound. The songs on Earning Keep vary from lush, texture-based pieces with sparse, minimal pianos ballads to harsher, stark noise. Smith was one of the last artists Todd Simko (Pure) worked with at his Mushroom Studio on Van City before passing away in April of this year.

Smith’s biggest claim to fame is guesting on the solo debut from Pizzicato Five’s Konishi Yasuharu.
