Pop Montreal Unveils More Details Of Line-up For 2013

With July over half over and September fast approaching, Pop Montreal has unveiled yet more details of its 2013 event, which will run from September 25 to 29. This year marks the festival’s 12th year.

Some of the acts announced include hip-hop group Alaclair Ensemble, Montreal experimental duo Macia Mia, Thus:Owls as well as the world premiere of Murray A. Lightburn of The Dears‘ electro-pop opera/solo debut Mass:Light.

Songs of Darkness finds musicians such as Patrick Watson, Ariel Engle and Andrew Whiteman (AroarA), Brad Barr,Andrew Barr, Sarah Pagé and Andres Vial (The Barr Brothers), and other special guests celebrates the relationship these artists have with the darkness in their music. Patrick Watson will also play a free show at The Rialto to unveil his new orchestral project after chatting with CBC Q‘s Jian Ghomeshi.

Pop Montreal will also feature  Ensemble d’Ondes de Montréal performing new and traditional pieces along with collaborations with Patrick Watson, Marie Jo-Therio and more.

Film Pop will also unveil several new films including StutterBayou Maharajah and Good Ol’ Freda.

Bernie WorrellFred Wesley and Tony Visconti are scheduled to speak at the Pop Symposium.
