Next month, Ottawa’s Pony Girl will be releasing Show Me Your Fears, an album that, if the video above is any indication, promises to be a harmonious and intricate offering of art-rock music. The video is a take-away show of the title track off the upcoming album, and it highlights the band’s talent for spinning beautiful soundscapes. It’s just one element of the albums accompanying project, one that seeks to play up the art in art-rock: the band has recorded take-away shows like the one above for every song on the album. The video was recorded at La Petite Mort Gallery, a wonderful backdrop to the creativity of the sound.

Pony Girl formed in 2012, its membership veterans of Bluesfest and Jazzfest stages, have studied music at universities, and some even teach it. Show Me Your Fears will be their debut album, featuring artwork by Antoine Ryan. The album is slated for release on September 28th and the release party will take place at La Petite Mort Gallery at 7pm that day. Tickets will cost $10 and include a physical copy of the album.
