FILM DOCUMENTARY TO INCLUDE MUSIC CONTRIBUTED BY HOTSHOTCASINO

Scheduled to screen at the TIFF Bell Light Box in 2012, Meredith Wright's scrutiny of the working conditions around young and underaged girls in the Japanese modeling industry will include music by the Canadian artists of Hotshotcasino.  "Kids don't know how to play" are the pointed words from an expressive chorus on the A-side of the band's recent 7-inch release.

Meredith Wright is a documentary filmmaker and videographer based in Toronto.  Her current work is leading to a Master's degree from Ryerson University.

Hotshotcasino are the Canadian band that pioneered art distribution through "pay-with-a-tweet" (via Globe & Mail) and who released their 7-inch, Kids (Playing Slow), in exchange for cupcakes (via Apartment613).  Agency marks the second glimpse of Hotshotcasino's music in film following Gabriel Héberts collaboration with the band for Sky High Apple Pie, a finalist in the 2009 edition of the Ottawa International Film Festival.

More to come as the project reaches its most public stages in the Spring.
